The Business of Being Born: Classroom Edition Premieres at UCLA!
Choices in Childbirth is thrilled to have launched The Business of Being Born: Classroom Edition at UCLA on March 5th, 2012!
We are so excited to officially launch The Business of Being Born: Classroom Edition (BoBB:CE). This critical program has adapted Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein’s ground-breaking documentary about birth in America for the university and college classroom setting. This 30-minute version is accompanied by Gene Declercq’s Birth By The Numbers and two interviews with celebrity parents featured in More Business of Being Born. We hope that by exposing students to this program, we can continue to change the face of maternity care in America.
The premiere took place in the beautiful Fowler Museum at UCLA. Choices in Childbirth’s founder and Board President, Elan McAllister was joined at the event by a brilliant panel: CiC Board Member Ricki Lake, film director Abby Epstein, Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz, midwife Davi Khalsa, and celebrity parents who appear in the film, Alexis Denisof, Alyson Hannigan, and Kellie Martin. We are so grateful to our audience members, some of whom came from as far away as San Diego and Santa Barbara.
